Licenscope

Terms of use

Last updated: 19 October 2026.

Purpose

These terms govern the use of Licenscope, a service that assists license compliance for digital resources used on websites.

Nature of the service

Licenscope provides technical information and indications about applicable licenses. It is neither legal advice nor a certification. A resource whose contract is unknown is never labelled as infringement.

Results depend on publicly observable resources, the reference catalogs used and the proofs supplied by the user.

Website scanning

The pre-scan is limited to publicly accessible pages, within the displayed volume limits (maximum caps per analysis, with no guarantee of exhaustive crawling: crawling may stop earlier for technical reasons of duration, number of requests or security), honouring robots.txt and without submitting forms or bypassing protections.

Users undertake to scan only websites for which such crawling is legitimate. In-depth audits and recurring monitoring are reserved for domains whose control the user has proven (DNS record or HTTP file).

Using the service to overload a website, bypass access controls or collect personal data is forbidden.

Account and organization

Users are responsible for keeping their credentials confidential and for actions taken from their account. Decisions and proofs recorded in an organization are visible to its members.

Proof documents

Users warrant they have the right to upload the documents they import. Documents are stored privately and encrypted, and are only accessible to members of the organization.

Plans, payment and cancellation

Prices exclude tax. Subscriptions are paid in advance through our payment provider and can be cancelled at any time from the account area, effective at the end of the current period. Each plan's quotas are shown on the Billing page.

Liability

Licenscope is bound by a best-efforts obligation. It is not liable for decisions users make based on the results, nor for the accuracy of third-party catalogs.

Governing law

These terms are governed by French law. For any question or complaint: contact@licenscope.com.
